Help for Inventory
A new supplier can be setup in either the Purchasing department or in the Inventory department.. All windows must contain an entry. The Internal Part # must be unique for each item in stock. The Vendors Part # can be duplicated on any number of items; however, this would be very rare.
A monthly statement can be printed, showing the cost value and the retail value of your entire stock. Do a search for "List All" and then print the report. You can also print a report for Reorder items and other searches.
Two searches have an Exact Match option. This option will obtain the information quicker then searching for a partial match. When searching for a partial match, enter enough of the suppliers name or description of the item that is unique to all other items in the database. Using the Exact Match option, the first item requested will be show in the inventory windows. You can then use the < & > buttons to move to the next Item that matches your search.
Items that are reordered from this window will automatically be sent to the Purchasing department. Stock items should be ordered using the Reorder Item button. General supplies such as pens, paper, and ink should be ordered using the menu bar item Departments > Order Supplies.
When inventory is received, a note can be sent to the Purchasing department informing them that a PO shipment is in and is now payable. You have the option of a partial shipment or a complete shipment. If a partial shipment is received, Purchasing will need a copy of the packing slip to determine how much is now payable; or you may wish to send them a message Department >Send Message.
